My alarm clock rings at 6:00 a.m. While most people are still asleep, I am already drinking my morning coffee and checking my lesson plans. I always arrive at school an hour before the students. It is the only quiet time I have to organise my desk, print out worksheets, and make sure the interactive whiteboard is working properly. A good start makes the whole day much easier.

B. Classroom Action
When the bell rings at 8:00 a.m., the real challenge begins. During the lessons, I try to make the topics as interesting as possible. We play educational games, work in groups, and do experiments. Sometimes, the students ask very surprising questions, and I have to think of the answers very quickly! Keeping thirty teenagers focused for forty-five minutes requires a lot of energy and patience.

C. Not Really a Break
Many people think that teachers can relax when the students leave the classroom for a break. However, this is rarely true. Usually, I have to walk around the school corridors or the playground to make sure everyone is safe. Even when I finally sit down in the staffroom to eat my sandwich, someone always knocks on the door to ask about their homework or a lost notebook.

D. The Second Shift
When the final bell rings at 3:00 p.m., the students happily go home, but my work is not finished yet. I carry a heavy bag full of notebooks and tests back to my house. Sitting at my kitchen table, I spend a few more hours checking their answers and preparing materials for the next morning. Despite the long hours, seeing my students learn and grow makes me truly happy.
